The Guatemalan Project works to provide opportunities to improve the social and economic situation of the poorest people in Guatemala, specifically in the village of El Triunfo, Gualan, Zacapa.
The Guatemalan Project does not give charity. On the contrary, it maintains the dignity of the people by respecting their decisions of what they need, by providing interest-free loans that allows them to start their own small businesses, and by providing educational scholarships linked to community building activities.
We borrow from a wise saying: “Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day, teach him to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” We, the Guatemalan Project add a line to this wise saying: “Make sure there is a river to fish in.” THE GUATEMALAN PROJECT IS THAT RIVER. A river of learning and working opportunities. With your help, the river will flow.
